A visit to the spa can be a very relaxing and fulfilling experience. However, it can fill some people, especially first-time spa-goers with a lot of anxiety when they think about the notion of getting undressed in front of a complete stranger. The staff at Juliana’s Day Spa & Salon is there to make you comfortable and guide you through the experience. And the vast majority of people who go to the Spa. enjoy it so much that they come back on a regular basis. But for those of you out there who are still a little uncomfortable and don’t know what to expect, here are a few tips and answers to some common questions about going to the spa:
Turn off your cell phone when you arrive.
Arrive at least 20 minutes before your spa appointment so you have time to check in, change into your robe and slippers, and relax.
A hot shower can also relax you before your spa treatment and make it more enjoyable.
Although massage is usually done nude, we respect your modesty and only ask that you remove as much clothing as you need to remain comfortable. However, keep in mind that you are always covered with a sheet throughout the entire massage a Juliana’s Day Spa & Salon.. Only the part being massaged is ever exposed.
If you schedule two treatments together, get your body treatment before your massage.
If you’re uncomfortable with anything during your treatment (for example: the pressure, the music, the temperature, etc…), let one of our Spa Professionals know immediately. The therapist will make an adjustment. The therapist is there to give your body what it needs. If the pressure is too much-- or too little -- speak up.
You can talk during the treatment or stay quiet, as you choose. The therapist will follow your lead.
If the therapist says, "Take your time getting up," that usually means a few minutes. It's not an invitation to take a nap. If you need more time, Juliana’s Day Spa & Salon is equipped with a Relaxation Room for your conveince.
Don’t forget to tip 15%-20%. If you were given a gift certificate , ask if the tip was included.
